When you make a small movie, the fuel that runs the whole machine is favors for friends. One of the biggest favors was our pal Don Was stepping in to produce "Q’est-ce c’est dur cette maudite cassure" which is BREAKING UP IS HARD TO DO in French.
Not only is Don one of the most sought after producers in the music business (just ask The Rolling Stones, Bob Dylan, John Mayer, and Ringo Starr all of whom he's produced recently), and the president of fabled Blue Note Records, Don is also the king of Nice People.
Don put together an outstanding band -- with the famous Don Was on Bass!
He included an accordion to echo Steve Rashid's amazing score of the film, and Julia, Brad and Steve Rashid hopped onto the vocals. It all happened in a single afternoon in a tiny studio in Santa Monica.
Here's a slideshow of behind the scenes photos, and a recording of the song!
